Free family-friendly programming is made possible one donation at a time

For 10 years, NewBo City Market has served as Iowa's only nonprofit public market and as a business incubator for countless local small businesses in the Corridor.

Our organization has been a staple for community development and revitalization since its inception. Iowans and out-of-state guests alike, visit the Market to experience first-hand the

vibrancy of our community.

This vibrancy can be seen in the Shopkeepers that call the Market "home," the community events that regularly occur in the Market Yard, and the free family-friendly programming.

Rock the Block

Each summer, the Market Yard fills to the brim with music lovers of all ages.

Every Friday night, talented local and traveling bands grace the Bankers Trust stage, and the Cedar Rapids community is welcomed by NewBo City Market to enjoy this live music for completely free.

This is Rock the Block.

As summer quickly approaches, NewBo City Market is working hard to bring back this iconic concert series. However, this would not be possible without donations from those who find themselves in the Market Yard during Rock the Block.

These concerts not only provide our community with enriching cultural experiences, they also support our greater mission of supporting the small local businesses that call the Market "home."

This summer, your donation will help NewBo City Market bring high-quality live music to the New Bohemia neighborhood... and you'll be the first to know the full lineup.

STEAM Saturdays

In 2021, NewBo City Market began hosting monthly STEAM Saturdays, a new free and family-friendly program that encourages kids to find the fun in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

At each STEAM Saturday, kids of all ages are given the opportunity to learn through fun and interactive activities, no registration or payment required.

STEAM Saturdays provide our community's children with enriching educational experiences, and encourage parents to get involved too.

This year, your donation will help NewBo City Market continue with this unique new initiative.

Meet Me at the Market

Yogis, dancers, runners, walkers and cyclists will all find themselves at the Market once again this summer, as Meet Me at the Market makes its return.

Each Thursday afternoon, our community can come together in the Market Yard and enjoy free fitness activities, led by local instructors.

At Meet Me at the Market, Cedar Rapidians find the time to do some "self care" at the end of the work week. The Market is proud to be a place of serenity for our community.
